A1. During the Second World War, the German did many things to try to break Viktor Frankl, but they soon found that while they could destroy his physical state, but they could never destroy his resolve or attitude. 2.Yes, it is possible to choose ones attitide. You can choose how you approach certain things with a certain type of attitude. 3. I think fear would affect some one's attitude twards a subject, such as the holocaust. 4. Because your attitude is one of the only things that cannot be taken away from you. 5. I think the best example would be people's attitude twards school. Like my attitude twards school is just kindof a meloncholly attitude.
B1. I would have to disagree. Yes, love is a good emotion, but I don't feel I need it to be saved. 2. Eli cares for his father so much. If Eli did not love his father the way he did, his father would not have survived, because Eli loved him, and gave him Eli's rations of bread. 3. That statement kind-of confuses me. I think if the situation is bad enough, a person may find dispair in his attitude.

Genocide
Genocide is the systematic killing of all the people from a national, ethnic, or religious group, or an attempt to do so. The most popular of this would be the Holocaust. The Holocaust had over 6 million jews die over a period of 13 years. 1.5 million of them being children, due to selection and beatings. Men, women, and children were scapegoated because of their religion. The Nazis did not see "Jew" as a religion, but labeled it a race. The difference is that is to the Nazis', you had no choice to where if you were jewish or not. No chance to convert. if your father was jewish, you were jewish too. It ran in your blood, and you had no choice. How could a group of people possibly just not like another person because of what they believe. Just because they are not a certain race? Just because they don't have a certain hair color? Because they were not assyrian? It angers me! Just the fact that one person can not like somebody because of a belief. Well you know what? Fuck you hitler. You're crazy.

Andre 'Redd' Vaughn's story
Andre grew up in the Bronx. He grew up without a father, which I can relate to. And at nine, his life changed when his sister walked in on his mom smoking crack. "I just opened the door and I saw her smoking the pipe. I stood there, and she dropped it and she closed the door on my face. After that it got worse. You get addicted to the drugs, and you can't stop. So as much as she got addicted to the drugs she about forgot her kids. "
There was a strugle for food when his mom was adddictied to crack. So his mom went arround the building asking people for food. That diddn't work, so Andre went and asked his uncle for food. His uncle took him on his first robberie. He was good, and he was going to put his street skills to use.
The robberies of the token booths, stores, and drug dealers were getting too serious for Andre. ""I don't want to leave my daughter. My daughter needs me." And this was like a big-time dude around that block, too. So I made him take his clothes off, and I made him walk outside. It got to point where it wasn't about the money anymore; it was about the rush."
Then his mom got off the crack, and was hospitalized. The crack had taken too much toll on her body, and she was hospitalized. It was up to Andre and his sister to make the decision for her to live or not..
"My mother was in the hospital. She was on the respirator. She wasn't breathing at all -- no movement, no nothing, she was just there. They left the decision up to me and my sister to see if we wanted to pull the plug on her. And that night she passed. She knew that the decision was hard for us, so she made the decision herself."
The death of their mother took a huge toll on them. Nobody to take care of them. Andre did not leave the house for two weeks. But one day, his sister brought a girl home. Ebony. Ebony was Andre's new escape. Ebony is Andre's new happiness.
